Life can take many many turns. Some are expected and others…not so much. Yet, I have found God’s goodness in each little joy and each huge sorrow. I heard recently something so powerful. Your test is simply your training. I sigh a deep ..very deep..sign as I know this is so true. But soon after those tests and trials..God sends a need. A heart in pain who needs to know how your endured. You begin to recognize sorrow in a way you never had before. Eventually you see that your sorrow was now the vehicle of hope for others. Surely, there are moments when I wish the pain had still not come. Then the Lord reminds me that He too had to endure for the love of the Father towards human kind. In this I can rest…and sometimes still with droplets from my eyes…I remember when another’s sorrow nudged me to hope in Glory….so I too choose to bless the Lord with my own. May you see today that your trial is simply your training…soon others will come in need. Your healing with come as you pour into them each..
THE LITTLE PEACOCK
There once was a beautiful peacock
Whose feathers were frayed and torn
Her tail it drug behind her
Swollen from rocks and thorns.
Her colors had dulled and now dingy
Covered in soot and debris
And missing were many her feathers
Leaving holes in her once shining wings.
Till one day a voice in the desert
Was heard in the wind and the breeze.
“little peacock my birds flock together
And others are missing their wings.
It’s time now that you do allow me
To wash and clean all those wounds
And I shall restore all your feathers
And bring back your colorful hues.”
The little peacock sat very very still now
As her Father began gentle strokes
From time to time she was wincing
For sting did the water and soap.
He’d stop and talk as she rested
Whenever she needed her breath
Reassuring her once He was finished
Her tail would once again spread.
Tears would drop as He bathed her
“Now, now I know that your sore..
But trust me you now have a heart that
Will go soon and rescue some more.
Remember how gently I’ve held you
For others will need the same hands
When I now send you to find them
They’ll likely be barely to stand.”
Father, where will now you send me?
He said “there are many who need to arise.
But I will make sure you can see them
For I’m giving you sight thru My eyes.
Ok, little one it’s now over
Now slowly stand up..take your place
The little peacock gasped as she marveled
Her beautiful tail as it raised.
Oh Father, my wings too are mended
That dingy ole dirt is all gone
How now can i ever repay you
For your gentle hands and all?
“You must now prepare for new journeys
There’s waiting lost birds needing love
And you will now help restore them
Remind them their called from above.
Remember My sweet, gentle touch now
And the way I hugged you and rocked
For many have wandered alone now
So love them too back to My flock.
Love Much,
Shelly Wilson
